Data, Wifi, Audio Visual, CCTV and Alarms
Improve your home wifi and entertainment set-up with proper cabling and properly placed equipment, and get your CCTV cameras and alarm system connected and actually working.
Wifi That Reaches the Whole House
Most bad wifi is not a bad internet connection. It is a router in the wrong place - in the cupboard where the fibre came in, behind the TV, or at one end of a long house - and every device in the house fighting for the same signal. The fix is cabling: a data cable to the rooms that matter and a wireless access point or two where they are actually needed, so the TV, the study and the games console are on cable and the wifi is left for the phones.
We run the cabling, terminate it properly, put in a small patch panel and switch where the fibre comes in, and set up the access points so the whole house has a strong signal. It is electrical work done by an electrician, so it is run neatly through the walls and ceilings rather than along the skirting.
Home Entertainment and Audio Visual
- TV mounting and cabling. Screens on the wall with the power and the cables hidden inside it, not hanging down the front.
- Home theatre and media rooms. Projector and screen wiring, speaker cabling to the right positions, and power where the equipment lives.
- Multi-room audio. Speakers in the ceiling or on the deck, wired back to one place.
- Outdoor entertaining. Power, data, TV and lighting to the deck, the pool area or the outdoor kitchen.
CCTV Cameras
A camera system is only as good as its cabling and its placement. We install both hard-wired and wifi camera systems. Hard-wired cameras are the most reliable and do not fill your wifi with video; wifi cameras are often a lot easier and cheaper to install, especially on an existing house, and we will tell you which suits yours. Either way, the cameras are positioned to cover the drive, the doors and the back of the property, the recorder somewhere secure, and the app on your phone so you can see the house from anywhere. For businesses, cameras over the till, the entrance and the yard, and the recorder kept where staff cannot get at it.
Alarm Systems
We connect and install alarm systems for homes and commercial premises: sensors in the right places, keypads by the doors, sirens, and the panel wired to power and, if you want it, to your network so the alarm can notify your phone. If you have an existing system that has stopped working or was left behind by a previous owner, we can assess whether it is worth reviving or replacing.
For Businesses
Network cabling for the office and the point of sale, wifi for staff and customers, cameras, alarms and access control, and the meeting-room screen that actually works when the client walks in. We do fit-outs and upgrades, and we can work outside your trading hours.
Cabling a new build for all of this while the walls are open.

Data, Wifi and Security Questions
Do I need cabling, or will a wifi extender do?
Extenders halve the speed of whatever they repeat and add another weak link. A data cable to an access point at the far end of the house costs a little more once and fixes the problem properly. For a small flat an extender can be fine; for a two-storey house or a long villa, cable it.
Wired or wireless cameras?
We install both. Hard-wired cameras record continuously, do not depend on the wifi and are the most reliable option, especially on a new build where the cable can go in while the walls are open. Wifi cameras are often a lot easier and cheaper to install on an existing house, where running cable to every camera would be awkward, and for plenty of homes they are the sensible choice. We will recommend what suits the house and the budget.
Can you connect an alarm I already have?
Usually. We can assess an existing panel and sensors, replace what has failed, and get it working again - and tell you honestly if it would be cheaper to replace the system than repair it.
Can you hide the cables for a wall-mounted TV?
Yes. We put a power point and the data and HDMI cabling inside the wall behind the screen, so nothing shows below it. On an exterior or masonry wall we will tell you what is possible before we start.
